of friends and I began homing dogs and
cats from the local humane society. Once
we learned that millions of animals sat on
death row in shelters, it was then that we

GC Located on exceptionally beautiful,
high desert land in southern Utah, Best
Friends Animal Sanctuary is home to
about 1,700 domestic animals [including]
dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, pigs, birds,
goats and donkeys. All animals are
available for adoption to the right, loving
home. Some have special health or
behavior needs, and many of those are
still able to be placed in special homes.
What sets Best Friends apart from
other rescue organizations?
GC Best Friends is the only national
organization dedicated to exclusively
saving animals threatened with dying in
shelters. We collaborate with many local
organizations doing the same work. From
the very start, Best Friends has led the
way in promoting the philosophy and
